The gulf of Karathona is located north of the town of Nafplio. The rock is solid gray and red limestone.

This crag to the left of a small chapel called Panagia Katakrimeni, is aimed at beginners and medium level climbers.

A sector that you can climb all the year as there is always shade in some routes. The routes in sector B are in shade until 14:00 in the summer. In the winter the sun comes only for an hour between 16:30 and 17:30. The orientation of sector A is north-west and you can climb easily on winter.

APPROACH:

As you enter the town of Nafplio and follow the sign to ‘Palamidi’. At the top of the hill you continue straight ahead to Karathona bay. Just before the end of the road to Karathona you see on your left the small white chapel hidden among the rocks. There is an old half-erased sign. After 50 m. we see the stairs that lead to the chapel and the footpath starts to the left of these stairs.
